We all want to lose weight quickly and keep it off, and some of us will go to extreme lengths to do this. It could have taken us years to put on the weight, but we expect to lose it after dieting for only a couple of days.
There is an abundance of crash diets, which will get you short-term results, but in the long run you will be worse-off because you will put all the weight back on, and then some.
What should I do instead?
What I’m going to suggest is not a fad, it’s not a crash diet, it’s what we as human beings were designed to eat. You will lose A LOT of weight, but more importantly you will keep it off!
It’s very simple, follow a low-carb, high-fat diet, also known as Banting, and practice intermittent fasting.
When you follow a low-carb, high-fat diet your body goes from using carbohydrates as it’s primary fuel source, to fat! Yes, your body literally becomes dependent on the fat you have stored to do everything that it needs to do!
Intermittent fasting is the low-carb, high-fat diet’s best friend. This secret weapon is what will separate you from the rest. When it’s done right, it comes with huge benefits. Among other things, you will melt fat, increase energy, and reduce your risk of/reverse type 2 diabetes.
When you fast, you are forcing your body to turn to your stored energy (fat and glycogen) for fuel.
It gets even better
When I first started Banting and practicing intermittent fasting, I saw results within 7 days. Other people I know have seen results in as little as 3 days!
Make it a lifestyle
Don’t view this as a short-term diet, view it as a lifestyle change instead. When you view this from the perspective that you are going to do it for the rest of your life, there is no need to rush. Yes you will get results very quickly, but you are going to experience many other benefits too.
As long as you follow this lifestyle it is nearly impossible to not lose weight and keep it off!
